Since the establishment of the institute forty-five years ago, special attention has been paid to the education of nurses/technicians and doctors. The continuity of cooperation with the Houston Medical Center (Texas Heart Institute and Memorial Hermann) has been maintained for decades. During the nineties, the education of over sixty nurses and doctors made it possible to implement the heart and liver transplant program. In recent years, there has been intensive training in all areas of cardiology, anesthesiology, cardio and vascular surgery, through academic and subspecialty training programs of the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade and multidisciplinary training in numerous international centers.
