The treatment of heart failure was the main topic of the great symposium “Dedinje 2021”, which was attended by numerous lecturers from the country and abroad. Prominent experts from Slovenia, France, USA, Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as domestic sound names of cardiac surgery and cardiology exchanged their knowledge and experiences on the treatment of heart failure, through a virtual platform, consistent with the epidemiological situation in the world. The successful work of the Symposium was wished to the participants by prof. Dr. Milovan Bojić, director of the Institute who is also the organizer of this virtual scientific conference, emphasizing, among other things, that the Institute has proven a high level of expertise and fully mastered methods and techniques of treating patients with terminal heart failure. .
The discussion at the Symposium took place in two directions.
-The first segment was dedicated to electrophysiological modalities of treating heart failure, and the second analyzed the benefits of using circulating pumps and total artificial heart in the treatment of patients with terminal heart failure in comprehensive scientific ways. Presenting our possibilities in that area, we want to help our colleagues in coronary and cardiac intensive care who have the most complex patients, opening the doors of our house, which gives even the most difficult patients hope for a cure. “Dedinje” as a leading institution has an obligation to dedicate itself not only to the treatment of these most difficult patients, but also to constantly educate its staff following the latest advances in the treatment of heart failure. including heart transplantation, which naturally and professionally belongs to the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Dedinje” – said Ass.
